Mailchimp users sync for newsletter signup

mrchristian opened this issue · comments

Spam users are being logged in Mailchimp. This problem needs remedying.

A few different checks will need making and the process of how a user information is added, updated, and removed from Mailchimp logged. This process will need double checking to ensure it is performing as intended.

  1. Change mailchimp signup to double opt in via email confirmation - turned on 4 Jan 2023. Done - not checked.
  2. Website signup changed from site 2022 to site 2023 made in website for 2023 signups (post 4 Jan 2023). Done - not checked.
  3. Check website user delete effect on Mailchimp
  4. Check pending account effect on Mailchimp
  5. Count 2022 website Mailchimp signup numbers
  6. Sample set of users to see status across system

Hi @mrchristian -- I've got access to the FORCE11 Mailchimp and can help you check and test these issues if you like.

I can confirm that signing up for the newsletter via the form in the footer of the FORCE11 website does now require a double opt-in and that new signups via the website are tagged with "site2023".

@mrchristian Quick question (I hope): I'd like to rename the Mailchimp audience where the users are added from "FORCE11 List" to the more descriptive "FORCE11 Newsletter" or even maybe "FORCE11 Newsletter Web Signups". Would that break the integration? The list ID would remain the same.
