Bringing this back to the forefront - still feels like we need a way to help provide a curation layer between maintainers and users. Could be metadata store, or could be software repo, or perhaps both.

• OSS sustainability? Do we hire maintainers?
  

• KDB example - unmaintained and forked into finos governance
  

• Enable and empower engineers - centralized teams, hiring public maintainers, train and empower teams to contribute fixes; can members fund team governed by Finos?
  

• What kind of checks and balances? What is the defense against bad faith?
  

• GitHub sponsors - fund developers
  

• LF has crowd-funding - need sponsor $$$$ - James will add comments on program
