Add documentation for Files command line
Andret2344 opened this issue · comments
What's the Problem?
I'm writing a custom tool that has the possibility to open file's localization in the Files
app (parallelly to explorer.exe) and have no idea how to do some certain things.
Solution/Idea
Somewhere should be a developer's documentation, e.g. information I need:
- On opening window/tab from command line, how to immediately select some file?
- How to check (in the most lightweight possible way) if
Files
is installed?
Alternatives
Reading the code...?
Priorities
Capability | Priority |
---|---|
Explain how to do particular most common things from command line | Must |
Explain ALL the possibilities from command line | Could |
Lack real samples | Won't |

Alternatively/in addition we could show the help when typing "files /?" or "files -h"

Totally agree, this would be sufficient, because now we don't know what can be done and how
Uops no apparently UWP apps can't print stuff to Console. Only solution is a documentation page (either on site or in-app).
That would work for anyone in need of information. Can't wait to see it deployed anywhere
