Running powertop --auto-tune causes laptop to wake up to a black screen after suspend

KarkanAlzwayed opened this issue · comments

I have tested this a lot. Every time I run sudo powertop --auto-tune, it works wonders and helps draw less power, but when I close the lid, the laptop suspends, I go back to open the laptop, the screen is black. Nothing shows at all. Nothing revives it, ctrl+alt+F doesn't do anything. Only way to recover is holding the power button down to force shut down the laptop. Removed the powertop --auto-tune service, rebooted and now it is all good. Happens on both wayland and xorg
Please let me know if you need anymore info or if you need testing. Thanks
To add a bit more info, the laptop does have a hybrid graphics card intel/nvidia, but I have not yet installed anything nvidia

I have found out, after rigorous testing, that this is not a powertop issue, it is btrf not working well with nvme drives. Switched to ext4 and all good now. Apologies for the confusion, closing this issue.
