Not working: Bring widgets to front

According to this Issue it should be possible to bring widgets to the front. But I can't find any option for that.
Use case:
Sometimes I quickly want to see my widgets without moving windows to the side. To move the windows away via gesture or keystroke takes times. As I am using a window manager (like yabai or amethyst) I need to see a widget which shows a list of available spaces before pressing the keys to move a window to the next space or next screen and without moving windows away.
Ah, just found out it is something that is not simple to implement. Question ist answered, then.
