Cannot create never ending daily scheduled tasks via dmCron

I can't create a never ending, daily scheduled task. It complains that the start and end date are both required. If I want a task to run from now until the end of time, then the end date needs to be optional for "daily" frequency tasks.
Sorry, maybe shouldn't have logged it here. I logged in Jira as well https://farcry.jira.com/browse/FC-2869
