Can I install Abbreviations from brew or brew cask?

Nope, the current way is easy.

Install

Download: Abbreviations.dictionary.zip
Unzip
Drag-and-drop .dictionary file into ~/Library/Dictionaries/
Restart Dictionary.app
Enable Abbreviations:Dictionary -> Preferences
Type a word
