Some comments/todo’s. Not all are relevant to this task; I think we can pick some off now and migrate the rest to other existing issues or into new issues:
- Label axes so caption has less work to do? (Would increase space consumed by figure though.)
- Use a different style for “selected” bubbles
(overloading colour is hard to spot)– maybe thicken the line used to draw the bubble? (Make the baseline thickness a bit smaller and then double it when selected, say.) So that the alteration to lightness is more visible, try a less saturated palette (similar to the one used for the line chart). -
TableView
: change cell highlighting so it doesn’t look so similar to POPL paper - It takes a while to grok that the
non-renewables
record on the right (in uppermost figure) is the same record that appears on the left (but with a bigger selection). Let’s come back to how we present this once we can #501 (I think we said “linking back to ourselves” would be introduced after linking back to another data source.) - Caption: “of output” is a bit unclear, maybe drop; also not clear that “renewables” means “proportion of renewables”. Also, “dependent variable” (A in “A against B”) usually goes on y axis.
- Biggest challenge in understanding the figure is the composite nature of the bubble, this needs some thought
- Reopen #875
- Label arrows with “what needs this data”, “what data do I need” or similar
- More bubbles, so the chart shows some vague trend (maybe 8 or so) – would also help with visual highlighting as more bubbles would make it easier to see that the selected bubble is visually distinguished
- Delete water example
