Ambiguous "description" within "obverse"

The NUDS documentation on Nomisma.org for obverse shows that a NUDS obverse may contain "... dateRange, description, description, die, ...".
The doubled "description" confused me. It is there because description can arrive via either the m.conservationStates group or the m.sideCharacteristics group.
This happened last year as a result of this commit.
