Comskip not marking commercials after 1.1 update

GoogleCodeExporter opened this issue · comments

I don't know how to reproduce the problem.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I am expecting comskip to mark commercials. This is not happening.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I'm using the latest release of etv comskip (1.1) for 10.6.3.

Please provide any additional information below.

I found this error in the console log viewer.
4/24/10 3:42:39 PM com.apple.launchd.peruser.503[245]
([0x0-0x21021].org.pythonmac.unspecified.ComSkipper[310]) Exited: Terminated

I viewed the latest comskip logs in [home]/library/logs/etvcomskip folder
and the latest logs are all blank.

I downgraded back to ETVComskip-1.0.3-10.6 and everything is working again.

"Install ETVComskip.app" only copies "RecordingDone.scpt" to
"/Library/Application
Support/EyeTV/Scripts/TriggeredScripts/". But the new "RecordingDone.scpt"
needs also
the "RecordingStarted.scpt". It's included in the dmg image and can be copied
manually.

Perhaps this helps, J.

Maybe I did something wrong, but I tried copying the file to
/Library/Application
Support/EyeTV/Scripts/TriggeredScripts/ and it still wasn't working.

I downgraded again and now eyetv doesn't recognize the full recording of SOME
recordings, I have to show package contents and play the video file with VLC or
quicktime.

[deleted comment]
i installed ComSkipper v1.1 onto SnowLeopard 10.6.3 with EyeTV v3.3.3, which had
never had ComSkipper on it before, and not a single commercial has been marked
all
week, and I just discovered it consuming 524MB ram - as usual.

considering whether to bother putting any more time into faultfinding this.

Make sure that you copy the RecordingStarted.scpt to the "/Library/Application
Support/EyeTV/Scripts/TriggeredScripts/" folder. As instructed above.

Also, the comskipper app that you see in activity monitor doesn't do anything
besides
tell eyetv to skip the marked portions of recordings while they are playing.
So you
don't have to skip it yourself.
