The Footnotes stop working

When I try and use the Footnotes and have a list with p believe if I am reading the markdown right it stops working the two examples what are working and not working below.

example used worked:

# Apple

*Nov 2, 2018*

Header 1            {#header1}
========

## Header 2 ##      {#header2}

This is not a Apple this is a *fox*

That's some text with a footnote.[^1]
[^1]: And that's the footnote.

That's some text with a footnote.[^2]
[^2]: And that's the footnote.

Also is there away to make images resized via the markdown ?
