Dot "." in name string not save

If in attrib "name" is . - text not saving... allways empty in result XML.
< string name="ContactSettingsActivity.import_from_phone_memory">Importuj z pliku vCard< /string >
spaces is added in github editor
This value not saving.
Where is bug?
