auto-repeat when holding space didn't work

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Long-Press Alternate keys
  --> Popup mini keyboard contents
   --> selected :"No Popups, use auto-repeat

What is the expected behavior? What do you see instead?

expected behavior: auto-repeat when holding space
instead: on holding space just "one input" gets accepted. e.g. while playing 
worms u need to hold space to set up the shooting power.

What version of Hacker's Keyboard are you using, for example "1.37"? 

Vers. 1.37.1419

On what phone or tablet?

ASUS Padfone 2,  Android 4.1.1

If applicable, does this affect the 4-row or 5-row layout, or both? Which
language(s)?

lang.: German

Spacebar is special since it's also used for switching languages, so I think 
long press won't trigger autorepeat on that. I'm not sure if there's a way to 
fix that without breaking language switching, and I'd hesitate to add an option 
just for this specific case.
