systemd unit starts too early, so no notification system is initialized yet

Notifications have stopped working for me on both Gnome and Awesome after this PR was merged:
#110

The reason seems to be that the systemd unit starts before the notification engine for both Gnome and Awesome does, so the check fails and notifications are never sent.
