Unable to install

I am unable to install both the Cran and GitHub versions of the ape package. Installing returns the following error:
ERROR: unable to collate and parse R files for package ‘ape’

Running under: Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS

Installing version 5.6 works on my system but not the current version.

If you can upgrade R, this should solve it (this should also solve issues with some other packages).

The GH version should install with no problem now.
