escape key not sent to terminal

i can't exit vim help.
using chrome on mac
The escape key works for me on Chrome on Mac.

ok that's very interesting. i'll try on different browsers, might be an OS version difference too.
update:
i think it's probably one of my chrome extensions. esc works in incognito & other profiles. i'll figure out which one is doing this...
https://unixpapa.com/js/testkey.html --> in incognito, escape does not cause focus to be lost. but in my chrome profile, it does.
ok ironically, it was vimium. sorry about that, should've checked first
