Private Voice Search not working on iPhone 8 iOS 16.7.2

iPhone 8 iOS 16.7.2
Before version 7.107.1, the Private Voice Voice Search was not to be found in Settings. Now (7.107.1.0), it finally is there, but when I turn it on and tap the microphone, it goes to the recording screen and instantly closes. :(
The DDG app does have microphone permissions.
Update: After the latest update (7.108), Private Voice Search is missing from Settings again.
