raspotify not showing up under devices in spotify connect

What happened?
I am on a pi zero w so I downloaded the package and then used
sudo dpkg -i DEB_PACKAGE
to install the package
I have not changed the config file and the log is just a nonstop loop of raspotify starting and then stopping, any ideas?
Relevant log output
Started Raspotify (Spotify Connect Client).

raspotify.service: Failed with result 'signal'.
raspotify.service: Scheduled restart job, restart counter is at 1.
Stopped Raspotify (Spotify Connect Client).
