Multicurrency doesn't work with any of the providers

I have two accounts in different currencies - RUB and USD. My base currency is RUB.
The earliest transaction in USD is dated by the middle of 2014.
When I try to include the USD account into the summary, I always receive an error message that says that there is no currency rate known for either today or 09.06.2014.
I tried all three currency rates providers with the same result. OpenExchangeRates site states that they have currency rates back to 1999.
It appears that I had two manually added records in the currency rates (under the Entities menu). I deleted them, pressed "Refresh", and everything started working.
However, it still shows an error under the "Transactions" tab.
It seems that the app doesn't load historical currency rates automatically. How can I do that?
