TaskFactory issues

There has been a new uptick in the number of *TaskFactory issues. This was previously triggered by large numbers of temp files, but this may not be the case this time around. This issue tracks ongoing progress in the investigation.

This has been seen across multiple projects with:

  • No change in image
  • No change in Jenkins.

The issue occurred more on or after the 5th of August.

I reproduced this outside of Jenkins (on just a regular VM) using ChakraCore, so the Jenkins environment doesn't seem to be the cause. I'm thinking there may have been some kind of background change in VM perhaps (since this is the same image we have used for 5 months.
