! LaTeX Error: File `mcdowellcv.cls' not found.

I'm new to LaTeX and I believe I probably need something to set this up. It'd be great if you helped me in making this work.
@waseefakhtar did you just clone the repository and try building the document based on the example template?
Yes, that's what I did.
What tool or command did you use to build the template and from which folder did you attempt building it?
Was it lualatex McDowell_CV_Template.tex from the folder with the template?
I could generate the resume in PDF using lualatex McDowell_CV_Template.tex in terminal but when I open the template in an editor like LaTeXiT or TeXworks, I get the 'mcdowellcv.cls' not found error.
On windows, it saves the mcdowellcv.cls file as mcdowellcv.cls.tex. Make sure to remove the .tex extension. On windows 11 you can do that by navigating to the folder that contains the file, from the View tab choose Show and thick File extensions name, then simply rename the mcdowellcv file
