No "delete account" function

Troon opened this issue · comments

I want to delete my account on Django People. There is no function to do this, nor are there any contact details to allow me to request this manually. I've emailed Simon thrice since July 2010 to no avail.

Please implement a "delete account" feature.

Sure, I'll add the feature.

I second this request. I somehow ended up with two accounts and would like to delete one.

No one replies nor takes action after removal request email.

@pawelpacana who did you email?

@brutasse I've emailed Simon in late 2011.

@pawelpacana right, I wondered if you'd done that recently, after the relaunch for instance. Simon's not involved anymore.

To all: the feature is now implemented and deployed, let me know if you have any issue.

Just tried it, got a 404 error after following the link in the email an entering my password. Tried twice, definitely used the correct password. Failed URL was:

https://people.djangoproject.com/(USERNAME)/delete/111/ (where "(USERNAME)" was my username and "111" was a different three-digit number).

Same for me,

Pozdrawiam, P.

Oops, sorry about that. Form submission shouldn't 404 anymore.

Brilliant, thanks. My account has been deleted, I don't show up in the search and I can no longer log in with my details. Success. The pre-deletion page has a minor typo: should be "immediately" not "immediatly".
