I think it makes sense for this setting to somehow apply to view.
Maybe there's a broader context to look into, being handling of views in general, so that they can be used transparently in conjunction with pg_diffix, e.g. allow one to use a view based on personal tables, which I think causes pg_diffix to complain about JOINs in the recent version.
My mistake, it works, I didn't restart the session.
