No User Names

A customer of mine has this as well.

Is this a general problem or does it just affect my installation?
What can I do to see the names again?

He asked me what this is about and I reported it here since I use it as well ...
The strange thing is, that I do not have this problem, but I do not know what is different between his and my installation.

Just happened to me after reboot now.
3 people out of some 90 do have names though, and not custom set ones.
I've been having this problem too. I looked throughout the issues and decided to try the "erase and re-add facebook account" that helped someone in the past with this sort of issue. Well, it doesn't really help, and actually makes it far worse.
At this point my facebook IM has 2 users when there should be like 200, their names are back, but it is putting everyone in "Facebook Non-Friends" by default, friend or not. They're only there because I sent/received messages from them since the account was enabled. Icons aren't updating either. Not sure if get-info ever worked, but it definitely doesn't right now.
I watched the debug for a while but I have no idea whats really going on in it but I did see the presence was being sent so it should have a bigger list of whats going on than it does
Then suddenly today everything starts working again. I'm confused.
Yes, the same for me too, now the names are displayed again.
I am also a bit confused!
Back to normal here again too.
Just started happening to my wife today, so appears to be user-specific, I just hope it goes away in a few days for her too! Is @dequis still maintaining the project?
This issue appeared for me today.
Anything I could try resetting or deleting? Removing the offending FB account and re-adding it left the FB account completely unusable - no friends/contacts. Nothing obvious in the System log. Only showed my FB account as logging in. (I made a backup before that, so my status is again the one where user names are replaced by numbers).
This happened to me just now, when I restarted Pidgin just after it crashed.
Issue disappeared for me roughly 2 days ago.

I'm still on the wip-work-chat branch, because I only use the plugin for the workplace connection, and it's happening there as well.
EDIT deleted and re-added the account, it looks better now. Interesting bug.
issue is not present when I built the tip of master
This one is back for me, but I have the wip-work-chat branch merged to master.
EDIT I re-created the account, and the problem went away - for now.
