remove protected pages not migrated

arademaker opened this issue · comments

We have ~50 pages that in the original wiki has restricted access and they were not migrated. See https://github.com/delph-in/docs/search?p=2&q=%22You+are+not+allowed+to+view+this+page.%22&type=wikis

I vote to remove these pages from the new wiki since the only content on them is the message not allowed to view ...

Some of these I hope we can retrieve. I'm surprised to see MatrixDoc/Coordination on that list, for example, and I can see the text. Several of the SynSem subpages also look quite valuable. Likewise LADLushootseedSemantics...

Is there a migration pathway other than individuals with read access on the old wiki copying material over by hand?

At this stage, I suppose we will need to copy the content manually. These pages were listed to @oepen that review the list before the migration.

The pages below were removed by me or @olzama after the migration:

% git ls | grep Destroyed
0c835ef6 (HEAD -> master, origin/master) Destroyed TestPage (markdown) [Alexandre Rademaker]
365687f1 Destroyed LtgOslo_Cristin (markdown) [Alexandre Rademaker]
33f3b518 Destroyed LtgOslo (markdown) [Alexandre Rademaker]
bfac8381 Destroyed StruktureradText (markdown) [Alexandre Rademaker]
3477708a Destroyed StructuredText (markdown) [Alexandre Rademaker]
2b20c1a7 Destroyed MatrixDoc_WhQ (markdown) [Olga Zamaraeva]

But https://github.com/delph-in/docs/wiki/MatrixDoc_Coordination was migrated. Please double-check the link in my first comment. I edited the link adding quotes in the search "You are not allowed to view this page."

The page https://github.com/delph-in/docs/wiki/LADLushootseedSemantics was also migrated. Sorry for the confusion with my first query link. I missed the quotes so I edited the link but GitHub does not send messages if we edit a comment.

But for the SynSem subpages... many were really not migrated.

Looking over the pages not migrated, several seem to me to be truly internal (including ones I do have access to, but also ones I don't), and/or superseded by actual publications (e.g. MrsCrawling). TomarSemanticParsing seems like an outlier, since those are notes from a DELPH-IN discussion --- perhaps one we felt at the time it was important to keep internal? (The read access is limited to ParticipantsGroup.) Other than that, the SynSem/Activities subpages seem to me to have potentially valuable information in them, but I think the question of whether to migrate those needs to rest with @oepen ... and if he's already said do not migrate, then I guess not.
