GENERAL INFORMATION / FEATURES:

Universal Tweaks is a modification that enhances existing gameplay elements by modifying things within The Long Dark that just make sense.

General Tweaks

Breath Effects Control: Choose whether to display the character's visible breath effect.
Constant Crosshair Visibility: Keep the crosshair permanently visible, regardless of the player's actions.
Headache-Free Foods: Remove the headache debuff caused by consuming porridges and pies.
Improved Revolver Handling: Allow movement while aiming with the revolver.
Insulated Flasks Duration: Customise how long the heat lasts inside insulated flasks.
MRE Texture Variant: Switch between the traditional blue and a new brown texture for MREs.
Noisemaker Adjustments: Choose how long the fuse lasts or how far the player can throw noisemakers.
Promotional Items Removal: Opt to remove promotional menu items for WINTERMUTE and expansions from the main menu.
Randomised Item Rotation: When an item is dropped, make it drop in a random direction.
Respirator Canister Duration: Determine how long the canisters for respirators last.
Slower Snow Shelter Decay: Adjust the rate at which snow shelters degrade over time.
Toilet Water Quality Setting: Decide whether water from toilets starts as potable or non-potable.

Flashlight Tweaks

All-Time Functionality: Enable flashlight usage anytime, not limited to auroras.
Aurora-Dependent Flickering: Make flashlights only flicker during aurora events.
Beam Duration & Recharge Options: Adjust the duration of low and high beams and set recharge times.
Customizable Beam Colors: Alter the color of flashlight beams for standard and miner's flashlights.
High-Beam Limitation: Restrict the flashlight's high beam mode to auroras only.
Infinite Battery Life: Ensure the flashlight never runs out of battery, for uninterrupted use.
Random Battery Charge: Start with a random battery charge level for added unpredictability.

Rock Cache Tweaks

Adjustable Region Limits: Set a custom maximum number of rock caches per region.
Indoor Placement Option: Allow building rock caches indoors, expanding placement possibilities.
Minimum Cache Distance Setting: Determine the necessary spacing between each rock cache.

Spray Paint Tweaks

Brightness Control for Glowing Decals: Adjust the intensity of the glow effect on decals.
Decal Placement Flexibility: Modify how closely decals can be placed to one another.
Glowing Decals Feature: Enable a glow effect for spray paint decals, visible in dark environments.

Travois Tweaks

Decay Rate Customization: Choose from various settings to control how quickly the travois deteriorates.
Movement Restrictions: Change whether movement is restricted or not.
Slope Navigation Capability: Set the maximum steepness the travois can handle.
Turn Speed Adjustment: Fine-tune the speed at which the travois can rotate.
Unlimited Interaction: Easily travel indoors anywhere with this setting on.

Miscellaneous Tweaks

Fire Sprite Fix: Realigned the currently misaligned fire sprite within the feed fire ui panel.
Improved Radial Menu: Spray paint cans are now greyed out if no can is found within the inventory.
Resetting Snares: Easier to reset snares just from the inspect menu after a rabbit is captured.

Avoid using the following mods below with this one as they may result in game crashes, data loss, or unforeseen issues:

INSTALLATION:

Download the latest version of MelonLoader.
Download the latest version of this modification.
Navigate to the game's mod directory: [Path to The Long Dark Installation]/mods.
Copy the UniversalTweaks.dll from your Downloads folder and paste it into the mods directory.
Launch the game. The mod should be enabled.
