When I try to run the command I get a TLS error. What can I do?

If you don't plan on upgrading from 2.15.1.1189 for now, I recommend using toltec to install ddvk-hacks instead.

I'd be happy to upgrade from 2.15.1.1189, but is remarkable-hacks compatible?

The readme is up to date: https://github.com/ddvk/remarkable-hacks#supported-devices-and-firmware-versions
So no.

If you really want to get the new features, you can look into upgrading and using https://github.com/mb1986/rm-hacks instead.

I'm sorry Eeems, I don't understand. The latest version supported by remarkable-hacks is 2.15.1.1189, but you say to upgrade to be able to install. However remarkable-hacks is not compatible with versions >2.15.1.1189. What am I not getting right?

I did not say to upgrade to install ddvk-hacks, I said you can look at upgrading and installing rm-hacks, which is a completely different repository. Please follow the link I provided to see what it is.
