Option to remove the long black semi transparent background?

Hi! Would love it if there was an option to remove the background border for the text + icons. The same background that runs along the bottom and top of the screen that is.

That's fair. There's a couple of things I want to try out as an attempt to give some more control about the looks of the bar in general. I'll take the bar opacity into account.
