What is the use of the smallest hole in the SW_PG1350 footprint?

I have white switches from early production runs where the end of the metal click bar sticks out of the bottom of the switch. That hole allows those switches to be mounted without having to trim off that piece, and is present in Kailh’s datasheets for PG1350 switches.
