Any way we could make this a gem, or get these changes merged into the deep_merge gem?

Looks like the gem was migrated over from rubyforge, but Steve never claimed it there. I've filed a support request to be added as an owner on gemcutter. Once that's done, I'll push a new version.

I got added to the gem after a bit of nagging, so I'll look at the remaining pull request and probably clean up the gem packaging stuff then ship a new one
