bbs02b shift sensor turn on too fast

I've been using a bbs02b with bbs-fw for the last few months and is mostly working fine. I use a low pas assist setting during most riding, but with higher pas power levels the shift sensor triggered power on after motor shut off is very hard on the chain/derailleur. Is it possible to limit the rate of power turn on after a shift sensor event to reduce this problem?
