Issue with Menu bar icon on Linux Mint

fishd72 opened this issue · comments

Running Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon on AMD64 hardware.

I'm seeing an issue where, if I go into Settings / App / Tray and disable "Show ModernDeck in the system tray", the icon remains but is non functional.
If I re-enable the setting, I get a second icon that is functional. Multiple attempts to disable this setting will result in multiple icons in the tray.
Disabling the setting and exiting the app leaves a non-functional icon in the tray.
Disabling the setting and starting the app, adds an additional functioning icon to the tray.

That is odd and sounds like it might be some electron bug ast he behavior is correct on Mac/Windows. I'll try to figure out what is up with that.

I can replicate and wanted to add some screenshots as supporting documentation. This is what the system tray icon looks like when you launch ModernDeck:

As @fishd72 said, if you then uncheck "Show ModernDeck in the system tray, the icon remains, but is nonfunctional. I.e. You can right-click the icon, select "Exit" (or any option) and nothing happens.

Now if you check the box again to "Show ModernDeck in the system tray," a second system tray icon is added:

When you exit ModernDeck from the main client, the "one true" system tray icon disappears, but the "phantom" nonfunctional icon(s) remains.

Further, if you restart Cinnamon, the icon spacer remains without the icon itself:

ModernDeck has been updated to version 10.0.0, is the issue you were facing still present in the new version?
