Single column layout

I use ModernDeck in a single-column layout as a permanent fixture on the side of my display. When clicking on some features such as a user's profile, retweet and others, I need to maximise the window just to be able to see the content as it's positioned outside the view. Would it be possible to add the ability to detect when a user is using a single column window width and adjust popups/modals to appear neatly inside the current view?
Actually this is a great idea for a feature and should not be not too hard to implement!
