Too many open files error

Hello Team, Greetings.
We are using Fedora Repository software which uses infinispan-cachestore-leveldb which internally refers to /org/iq80/leveldb/leveldb/0.7/leveldb-0.7.jar.
I came across this link regarding the same issue on google/leveldb#401 and was wondering if this is already addressed in Java port and if upgrade to 0.9 will be sufficient or not. But it seems like fix shown here google/leveldb@646c358 is committed on Jan 03 2017 which is after the release of version 0.9 listed here, is it possible to port over this fix and release a new version, or help us fix this and contribute back?
