I dug around in the issues database a bit, and wasn't able to find anything
related, or rather.. nothing related that was marked as solved. There were some
issues back in 2010, but.. that was a LONG time ago.
Device: Nexus 5 / KitKat (4.4.5)
PC: Lenovo Yoga 11S, Windows 8.1 Pro all patches (as of 7/7/14).
MultiDroidNotifier 0.51 x86_64
Java -version output:
C:\Users\Jeff\AppData\Local>java -version
java version "1.7.0_60"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_60-b19)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.60-b09, mixed mode)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start Desktop app and service on phone per "usual" method
2. Ensure devices are paired via BT.
3. Configure Desktop app as follows:
General Options:
Start At Login - Checked
Private Mode -- Unchecked
Notification Reception Methods:
WiFi - Enabled
Internet - Disabled
Bluetooth - Enabled
Decrypt notifications - Disabled
(no passphrase)
Notification display methods:
System default.
Notification Actions:
<as desired>
Devices:
Receive Notifications From Any Device - selected.
4. Configure Device As follows:
Notification Service Section:
Start @ Boot - Enabled
Show Notification Icon -- Enabled
Notification Methods:
IP/WiFi - Enabled and configured per DEFAULT:
IP WiFi Options:
Target IP Address - Global Broadcast Address
Auto-Enabled WiFi - Enabled
WiFi Sleep Policy - default
Send with UDP - Enabled
Bluetooth - ENABLED
Bluetooth Options:
Target Device (I've tried all 3)
5. Send "Test notification" from client device.
6. Results:
Client reports test sent successfully.
Host PC - Notification icon says "Nexus5 sent a ping / Test notification", but a error also pops up: "An error occurred while receiving bluetooth notification."
7. Randomly change a bunch of settings above, including adding, removing
encryption, chaning targets from any to all to specific, etc, etc.
Same deal. error continues to be reproducable.
Screenshot of desktop PC attached, with config settings etc, etc. avail as

Log from %APPDATA%\..\Local\BTServer.log (Windows BT server stack output)
attached as BTServer.log.
I'll save you having to download it. The errors that show up are:
07/07/2014, 23:43:23
Pair error:flags is not valid
07/07/2014, 23:43:26
Pair error:flags is not valid

Pair error:flags is not valid
07/07/2014, 23:45:51
Pair error:flags is not valid
07/07/2014, 23:45:51
Pair error:flags is not valid
ALOGCat output on "Main" log buffer - only shows standard garbage collection
stats. No errors (With verbosity set at DEBUG). NO entries in Radio, or Events
either.
Everything works fine using IP/UDP, I just don't like doing that while I'm
traveling / not at home.. Plus I'm always behind a VPN now days, and no inbound
UDP will make it to me while that's up and running.
Let me know how else I can help!

I get the same error sometimes. Is this app being maintained? I could help
with the coding but don't see the windows source code in Google code.
