OpenNI / Kinect basics workshops at ECV Paris 2013

Day 1 :

Duration : 2 hours

Program :

• Self introduction (Cyril Diagne)
• LAB212 introduction
• Kinect sensor introduction
• Workshop presentation & brainstorm

Day 2 :

Duration : 2 hours

Program :

• Quick introduction to Processing
• Introduction to basic programming concepts in processing (setup/draw, functions, classes, arrays..)
• Simple retrieval of OpenNI Skeleton datas using a processing library (SimpleOpenNI) and a Kinect

Material required :

• Laptop with Processing (v2.0 min) installed
• SimpleOpenNI v0.27 : https://code.google.com/p/simple-openni/

Day 3 :

Duration : 2 hours

Program :

• Introduction to new files
• Introduction to ControlP5
• Demo of the workflow to customize the demo
• Free experimentation

Day 4 :

Duration : 2 hours

Program :

• To be determined

Day 5 :

Duration : 2 hours

Program :

• Demo of the workshop's result to the class and educationnal corpus
