Bookmark issues when using inline code in md headers

When adding:

\usepackage[
  usenames,
  dvipsnames,
  svgnames
]{xcolor}

to the template.tex and changing the appearance of inline code in md to:

- \newcommand\mdcode[1]{\texttt{#1}}
+ \newcommand\mdcode[1]{\texttt{\color{Red!33!Black} #1}}

Bookmarks are messed up as follows:

when using a header in your markdown source like:

...

## Restricted `begin_edit()` and `end_edit()`

...
