Schemaeditor in content types control panel and in easyform disables save / edit xml buttons semi randomly

To cross reference the issue here: it's an underlying problem in plone.resourceeditor and pat-validation, but if you try to edit the fields or actions in easyform the xml editor buttons get disabled semi randomly on loading the resourceeditor.
