Is the $HOME variable needed?
on most linux installs I would think it should install /bin/modman vs /username/bin/modman
It caused me issues in my install, I had to run the bash commands manually to install it.
That would then require sudo.. But I agree that is preferable, it is just not a great assumption that user has sudo. All the installer does is download a file and chmod it, so it is not at all necessary to use it. Not saying it couldn't be improved though..
