Use the Dev-Starter-Kit instead of this. The Dev-Starter-Kit will be easier to install because that one is kept up to date by Joe and it will install on the latest LTS version of Node.js. Many errors people are getting are caused when they try to install the 2018 kit using the latest version of Node.js because that is what is readily available on the front page of the Node.js site. Save a lot of time and install the Dev-Starter-Kit. If you want to install the 2018 kit, then you will have to downgrade your version of Node.js. I downgraded the one on my macOS machine to 6.x.x. On the Windows 10 with WSL machine, I installed it on the version that came with what Joe recommended in the Windows 10 with WSL video he did, which was 9.x.x. I forgot what the x’s represented.

I understand why Joe would leave this up. Many videos were done with this 2018 kit and many people would be confused if he took this away. There are people that hardly know how to use a computer and if they don’t see something exactly like it was in the video, they would be extremely confused.

Do yourself a favor and go for Joe’s Dev-Starter-Kit. It’s similar to this one, but it’s up to date, and will be easier to install.
