the main foam page seems to come from the docs folder on the repo

Followed this foam template: https://github.com/Jackiexiao/foam-mkdocs-template#deploy-locally
but upgrading material and tweaking navigation and colors via:

it uses python mkdocs serve in a venv, but pretty inoffensive compared to jekyll. just need to get deployment setup after this. looks good locally now after f314874

possible we could have avoided moving everything into docs folder (since it's not used for pages - needs build step)...
