There appears to be an active fork, which has incorporated all the available patches: https://github.com/roryokane/detectindent (based on https://github.com/raymond-w-ko/detectindent).

Please consider linking to it from your README or something similar.

The "semi-reasonable" bit is what worries me: there's a reason I've not been merging many of those patches...

I agree. While I was quite happy with https://github.com/raymond-w-ko/detectindent for a long time, https://github.com/roryokane/detectindent has some changes I dislike, like setting &sw=0.
