Mark entries (f.e. events or other important ones) as deleted rather then really delete them (could be deleted manual or after a distinct time) to prevent problems on mistakes.
There could be a "really delete event?" question before deleting events with repeats.
I think I've seen this functionality in CT 3.02.
As only bugfixes are provided for 2.x, I wouldn't expect this feature to be added to 2.x.
