Do proper releases

could you tag the releases so github makes them available as tarball and I know what to package for Debian instead of just random commits?

I would also appreciate some versioning to track commits vs. what is deployed via package managers. Use of "version" in package.json is a recommended practice by npm as documented here https://docs.npmjs.com/about-semantic-versioning .
