Character creation

Right now, everyone who logs in plays as Colin Elfwatcher. This is obviously not ideal!
Instead, users who log in should be asked to identify their character, or create a new one. Players should have passwords to secure their accounts. If a new connection logs in as a character who is already connected, the old connection should be terminated.
