Training Improvements based on Caltrans Feedback Survey

- 1. Map the roles and the goals of the project to the training (this was identified last time, but we missed it)
- 2. Map the recommended readings and tutorials to the roles of the project
- 3. Add one additional hour for Snowflake training (two 2-hour days)
- 4. Refine our own Snowflake training content and exercises (day 1 can use editing for length)
- 5. Add a conceptual overview of dbt and more content on materializations and how that relates to data warehouse performance in our dbt training
- 6. Changes to office hours to be less demanding on staff time, offer four days
- 7. An ideal 3-week training schedule would look like (start/end times are not real)…

Really nice synthesis. It seems like some of the things that they struggled with were about turning theoretical material in the training into practical advice:
- How do we understand query performance?
- How do we select a warehouse size?
- How do we choose a materialization strategy?
I’d be nervous to bring too much content around those topics into the training to keep from overwhelming them, but maybe we can do some more signposting about follow-up working sessions/training on those topics?
