Can not change downloading option to background download

Everytime I open the settings dialog it shows the downloading option is "Direct. DL". I change it to "Back. DL", close the settings dialog then reopen it immediately, it shows "Direct. DL" again.
To save changes you need to press Triangle again. Closing the menu with O (circle) will not save the changes.
