Hi,
at first: create work - thank you!
It would be great if you could set a tag, where you change the java driver version. As I know the java driver version should be the same as the server version, but in production we cannot always run the newest one.

since I didn't hear further details, I'm closing this issue.
in the future, maybe you can provide a pull request with your implementation of what you had in mind?
