With ref to a software research on Brackets we would like to know a few questions prior to its use in one of our departments in Manchester Metropolitan University –
- When was software last updated
- Is software still on active development
- Are the software provider committed to patching the software in event of security incident or known security vulnerabilities?
Please could answer the above-mentioned question about Brackets software.
Thanks, and Regards,

- When was the software last updated
1 Month before. Please see our releases page: https://github.com/brackets-cont/brackets/releases - Is software still on active development
Yes, the majority of the modernization effort is handled in a separate repo: https://github.com/phcode-dev/phoenix
A new major release is expected around July 2023 based on phcode.dev - Are the software provider committed to patching the software in event of security incident or known security vulnerabilities?
Yes, We usually patch vulnerabilities within 3-4 days of receipt of the security notification in Github, please see our release history to get security patch-related releases.
There is also a browser-based version of brackets https://phcode.dev , that can be used without any installs. But some features are still missing in that like Git Extension.
