Availabilty of hadoop client from this image

Hello,
sorry if this is not the proper place, and it is a silly question. These Spark images include a certain Hadoop version, and I have seen jar hadoop archives in /spark/jars directory. I was wondering whether hadoop client could be used somehow from that image. Basically, I would be interested in using getmerge functionality from that.
